Marcel Windt specialises in insolvency law and restructuring. He acts both as a court-appointed trustee and as an adviser to companies, funds, foreign trustees, foreign counsel, creditors, interim management and banks. Marcel advises his clients on liability, risk- and reputation management, complex refinancings and distressed acquisitions.He focusses on the restructuring methods of a business in relation to its financial issues, often in an international environment.
In the past, Marcel had a role as supervisory director of a law firm, of a regional hospital, was Chairman of the panel of Insolad that would advice on complaints about professional behavior of it’s members, board member of a small school charity, court appointed crisis manager of a EU subsidized financially troubled Foundation, board member of Art Institution de Ateliers, co founder of a child care institute, and currently Marcel is involved as Chairman of the Steinhoff Recovery Foundation, a vehicle that executes the Steinhoff Global Settlement.
Marcel followed post graduate courses on finance, economics and business mediation. He is a trained Restructuring Expert - a former president and now a honourary member of the Dutch chapter of the Turnaround Management Association, a former INSOLAD board member, a member of INSOLAD's disciplinary committee and active member of INSOL Europe.
